 and in some respects a generation or two before us have only

 known this era of fossil fuel exploitation and resource grabbing;

we call this normal.

inspire me to even greater heights.

Affirmations I used to write Climate Change: Our Children Are in Danger

Tolle helped me understand how we find ourselves pitted against one another. We need to work as brothers and sisters to solve our problems and resist the impulse to cast ourselves as victims and others as the enemy

Both sides believe 'we are right' and 'they are wrong.'

Both sides are deeply identified with their own perspective.

Both sides are equally incapable of seeing the other’s perspective.

Both sides believe themselves to be in possession of the truth.

Both sides regard themselves as victims and the 'other' as evil.

They 'dehumanize' the evil other as their enemy.

Once the enemy has been dehumanized, they can kill and inflict all kinds of violence on the other, even on children without feeling their humanity and suffering. They become trapped in an insane spiral of perpetration and retribution, action and reaction.

Eckhart Tolle

I hope these quotes inspire you to take action. Global warming is real and needs our full attention. We can protect our children.                                          -Mary Guay
